Description

Welcome to a new era of forklift operator training. This premium, online forklift certification safety training class is designed to provide the knowledge of OSHA regulations and to help prepare your operators for safe driving practices with powered industrial trucks. You’ll dive deep into what it takes to keep yourself and pedestrians around you safe while learning new lift truck skills you can immediately apply to your job. This training involves classroom theory and a hands-on training evaluation that is tailored to the exact lift trucks you operate.

This class is perfect for beginners who have never operated a forklift, as well as experienced operators who need to be re-certified. The online portion features videos, quizzes, interactive content, and a final exam you can access anytime and anywhere – via mobile phone, tablet, or computer. Our in-person class offers all of the same as our online classes.

After successful classroom instruction is completed, a hands-on practical training session will be scheduled at your facility to successfully complete the certification.

Training Requirements Quick Review

OSHA requires every forklift operator to receive proper training and evaluation prior to operating a forklift. This course helps satisfy the operator training requirements under OSHA’s Powered Industrial Truck Standard (1910.178(I)). Specifically, it is designed to help learners inspect and operate a forklift in a safe way, protecting themselves and their coworkers from the potential hazards associated with their use.

All operators must undergo a performance evaluation/re-certification at least once every three years. Refresher training must be provided if certain events occur:

☑ The operator is observed to be operating unsafely
☑ Operator is involved in a near miss or accident
☑ Change in the type of lift truck being operated or to the workplace
☑ A deficiency is noted in an evaluation
☑ Expiring certifications

Your Questions. Answered.

Q: How long is the online classroom course?
A: The time to take the online classroom portion of training can take anywhere from one hour, thirty minutes to two hours.

Q: How long is the hands-on training?
A: It depends on how many people are needing to be evaluated. Plan on roughly 10-15 minutes per operator per equipment type. We recommend having about six people or less per hands-on training “session” to keep class participants focused.

Q: Does this course satisfy all forklift brands?
A: This training is designed to be general in nature since it covers safe operating procedures for all classes of forklifts. Because this training covers all OSHA required content, a good comparison is driver’s education class. You went through the class to familiarize yourself with the rules of the road, laws, etc. not to get your license for a specific brand of car.

Q: Is the course accessible through mobile phone?
A: Yes, you can access the course via mobile phone or tablet, along with laptop or desktop computer.

Q: What if I have to interrupt my course, can I resume where I left off?
A: Yes, you may leave the course and resume at any time and also resume where you left off.

Q: I purchased the course, now what?
A: We will follow up via email to provide you access codes and instructions for entry into the online course.

Q: What happens after I successfully complete the course?
A: You will receive instructions in the initial course access email on how to schedule a time to complete the hands-on training.
