Product Description

A major addition to the new ANSI standards that went into effect on June 1, 2020 is the requirement that the user must ensure that all personnel that directly supervise MEWPs operators are trained in the following areas:

  • proper selection of the correct MEWPs for the work to be performed;
  • the rules regulations and standards that apply to MEWPs, including the provisions for safe use as defined in ANSI A92.22, training and familiarization, and the work being performed;
  • potential hazards associated with use of MEWPs and the means to protect against identified hazards;
  • knowledge that the manufacturer’s operating manual(s) are an integral part of the equipment and need to be stored properly in the weather-resistant compartment on the MEWPs.

This online training class satisfies each of the requirements listed above for MEWP supervisor training.

Q: How long does the course take?
This course is expected to take 3-4 hours.

Q: Is the course accessible through mobile phone?
A: Yes, you can access the course via mobile phone or tablet, as well as via laptop or desktop computer.

Q: What if I have to interrupt my course, can I resume where I left off?
A: Yes, you may leave the course and resume at any time and also resume where you left off. It is recommended you set aside enough time to finish the course at one time.

Q: My facility has no Genie equipment, will this course still be ok for other brands of mobile elevating work platforms?
A: This training is designed to be general in nature since it covers safe operating procedures for all types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). It is expected that operators will follow established familiarization procedures prior to operating models not specifically addressed during this training. Because this training is general in nature, a good comparison is driver’s education class. You went through the class to familiarize yourself with the rules of the road, laws, etc. not to get your license for a specific brand of car.

A: We will follow up via email to provide you access codes and instructions for entry into the online course.

Q: What happens after I successfully complete the course?
A: You will be deemed compliant with ANSI’s new standards for Supervisor training. Additionally, you may print your certificate of completion from your portal.
